How It Works

1

Drop Your Image Here

Drag a file onto the page or click to browse. Works with PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and a bunch of other formats. If you can open it on your computer, we can probably convert it.

2

Pick What You Want

Choose your output format from the dropdown. Not sure which one? PNG keeps everything crisp, JPG is good for photos, WebP gives you small files that still look great.

3

Grab Your File

Hit convert, wait a second or two, and your new file is ready. It downloads right to your computer. The whole thing happens locally so nothing ever gets sent anywhere.

What People Use This For

Making Websites Faster

WebP images are way smaller than JPG or PNG - we're talking 25-35% smaller - without looking worse. If you run a website, switching to WebP can seriously speed up your page loads.

Social Media Posts

Each platform has its quirks. Instagram likes certain sizes, Twitter compresses things its own way. Having the right format before uploading means your images look the way you want them to.

Design Work

PNG when you need transparency, JPG for final exports, SVG for logos that scale. Different projects need different formats, and switching between them shouldn't require opening Photoshop every time.

iPhone Photos

Apple decided HEIC was a good idea, but then you try sending photos to your Android friends and... nothing works. Convert to JPG and suddenly everyone can see your pictures again.

A Quick Word on Formats

PNG

The go-to for anything with transparency or sharp edges. Logos, screenshots, graphics with text - that's PNG territory. Files are bigger, but you don't lose any quality no matter how many times you save. More details in our PNG vs JPG comparison.

JPG (or JPEG - same thing)

Best for photos and images with lots of colors and gradients. Files are much smaller than PNG because some data gets tossed during compression. Works literally everywhere. Doesn't do transparency though. Check our format guide if you're not sure which to use.

WebP

Google made this one, and honestly, it's good. Smaller files than both JPG and PNG, supports transparency, and every modern browser handles it now. If you're building websites, this is probably what you want. We've got a full writeup on WebP if you want the details.

SVG

Not actually pixels - it's code that describes shapes. Means you can blow it up to any size and it stays crisp. Perfect for logos and icons. Usually tiny file sizes too.

Nothing Leaves Your Computer

Seriously - we don't see your files

It All Happens in Your Browser

The conversion runs right here on your device using JavaScript. Your images are processed locally - they never get uploaded anywhere. We literally can't see what you're converting.

No Servers Involved

Most online converters send your files to their servers for processing. Not us. Your vacation photos, work documents, whatever - they stay on your machine the entire time.

Convert Anything Without Worry

Personal stuff, confidential work files, whatever you need converted - there's no risk of it ending up somewhere you didn't intend. Close the tab and it's gone from memory.

What Happens to Your Files (The Short Version)

Nothing sketchy, we promise

Here's the deal:

Files Live in Your Browser's Memory

When you load an image, it sits in RAM temporarily while being processed. That's it. Nothing gets saved anywhere permanently, and definitely nothing gets sent to us.

Close the Tab, It's Gone

Navigate away or close the browser and everything gets cleared automatically. No cleanup required on your part, no residual files hanging around.

We Don't Know What You're Converting

There's no tracking on your files - not the names, not the contents, nothing. We use basic analytics to see how many people visit the site, but that's about it.

Works Even Offline

Once the page loads, you could disconnect from the internet and keep converting. The whole thing runs locally. No connection home required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, our image converter is completely free to use with no hidden charges, subscriptions, or premium tiers. You can convert unlimited images without any restrictions.

What image formats can I convert between?

We support all major image formats including PNG, JPG/JPEG, WEBP, SVG, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and more. You can convert from any supported format to any other supported format.

Will converting reduce my image quality?

It depends on the formats you're converting between. Converting to lossless formats like PNG maintains perfect quality. Converting to JPG uses compression which may slightly reduce quality, but we use high-quality settings by default. WEBP offers excellent quality at smaller file sizes.

Is there a file size limit for image conversion?

Since conversion happens in your browser, the limit depends on your device's memory. Most modern devices can easily handle images up to 50MB or larger. If you encounter issues with very large files, try closing other browser tabs to free up memory.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Currently, our converter processes one image at a time to ensure the best quality and performance. However, you can convert multiple images sequentially without any limits.

Do I need to install any software?

No installation required! Our image converter works entirely in your web browser. Simply visit the website and start converting. It works on Windows, Mac, Linux, and even mobile devices.

How do I convert PNG to JPG?

Can I convert HEIC files from iPhone?

Yes! Our converter supports HEIC to JPG conversion. HEIC is Apple's default photo format on newer iPhones. You can easily convert HEIC images to JPG for universal compatibility across all devices and platforms.

What's the difference between JPG and JPEG?

JPG and JPEG are exactly the same format - just different file extensions. The term JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. Both .jpg and .jpeg extensions refer to the same image format and can be used interchangeably.

Does converting images reduce file size?

Yes, converting images can significantly reduce file size depending on the format. Converting PNG to JPG or WEBP typically reduces file size by 50-80%. WEBP format offers the best compression while maintaining quality, perfect for web use.
